Accelerated Math

May 31, 2013

Dear Parents,

Thank you for a wonderful year in accelerated math.  It was a challenging year for everyone: teachers, students, and parents.  We all learned a lot and had some fun doing it.  I want to thank all of the parents that gave good feedback to us about how to improve our instruction and communication to parents.  We will continue to work on this next year.  Below, I am going to post a summary of Key Learning concepts that we covered this year.  It is always important to practice math facts over the summer, but review these concepts will be even more beneficial.  It even has websites for parents and students to refer to.  I will also attach a sneak peak for next year's math class.  You can check out what concepts the students will be expected to learn in 4th grade accelerated math.

I hope this helps.  Enjoy the summer!  Thanks again for a wonderful year!

I will be posting some information here for you to use as a reference.  I may not have material for everything, but I will try to add what I can.  I hope you find this helpful.

Please use the Study Jams webstie http://studyjams.scholastic.com/studyjams/jams/math/index.htm for a review!  There are many great links/step by step explanations/videos that will help you study!

Also remember that the Learn Zillion website http://learnzillion.com/lessons?utf8=%E2%9C%93&filters%5Bsubject%5D=math&query=&filters%5Bgrade%5D%5B%5D=4&filters%5Bdomain%5D=&filters%5Bstandard%5D= has great videos for most of the standards.

Finally, the IXL website is a great site for the students to practice the skills.   It has links for each grade level!  http://www.ixl.com/
